The Oodnadatta Track

Maree to William Creek via the track is only around 200km but we took a whole day to make the trek and enjoyed lots of stop-offs at old railway sidings, “Plane Henge” (a sculpture/art project in the middle of nowhere), lake lookouts and artesian springs.  It was a great trip and the road was much smoother than we had anticipated – gravel and rock, some sandy patches, but with tyres at 30psi (hot) we had no trouble.

A quick stop at Coward Springs showed a great little oasis in the desert – with shady trees and what looked like a terrific campground.  But for us, it was on to William Creek for the night.
