Kangaroo Island – beach combing

In complete contrast to the south coast, the north shore of KI is calm and tranquil.  Protected bays and clear waters were just gorgeous.  We spent hours scouring the beaches and clambering over rocks. Our favourites were Stokes, Emu and Snellings.

Around to the eastern end of the island and a drive along millionaires row is fascinating.  Magnificent beach houses are tucked along the coast at Island Beach.  The Dudley Peninsula is amazing, but we ran out of time to make it out to the cliffs.

We called in at Shep’s Studio to check out the local artworks.  Shep has some fabulous stuff – mostly of the island and coastline.  He always welcomes visitors and it is definitely worth a look.

Before we knew it our five days were up but we will definitely be back with the camper in tow.
